Stephanie Wiman, MD
Dr. Wiman would like to claim Houston as her home. She grew up in Colombia, Trinidad and Miami and then moved to Houston to attend Robert E Lee High school.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Smith College in Massachusetts and then completed Medical School at the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to Houston to complete her Family Medicine Residency at Baylor College of Medicine where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Her husband’s military obligations led her to move to Oklahoma and North Carolina where she joined group practices similar to Village Family Practice. When she was finally free to choose where to live, she returned to Houston and opened a solo practice in West University. After three years, the realities associated with three young children and an ill mother convinced her to close her practice and take a leave of absence.
Dr. Wiman is a Board Certified Family Medicine physician who honestly loves all aspects of patient care. While the time spent during her absence from practice was rewarding, she looks forward once again to the unique relationship that a caring doctor can develop with her patients.
Dr. Wiman has three children, Clayton, Emma and Alison and loves watching them grow and mature. She has five dogs (yes, 5) who can sometimes be seen taking her on a “drag” through the neighborhood. She also has two sport horses, one retired and one with whom she actively competes in Dressage. Her dream is to own a small ranch one day, where her dogs have ample room to run and bark and she can feed her horses carrots at bedtime in the moonlight.
